St. George Spring Break

We had a great Spring Break! We left late Sunday night and made it to St. George where we enjoyed a couple of warm days before we headed north to the SNOW! We enjoyed swimming, relaxing, riding scooters, and eating. Grandma and Grandpa Thompsen were there and made the trip even better.

We went to a Wal-Mart sponsored Easter Egg Hunt at a local park in St. George. They divided the kids up by their age. The girls were too far away to get very good pictures but here is Mac eyeing all the loot, just waiting until they say go.

The Great Race

We did it! It wasn't pretty but we did it. McKay and I trained for about three months to run the Agoura Half Marathon. Almost seven miles of it was on a trail that was a lot steeper than we planned. Parts of it I was walking and I was passing people trying to jog. My knee held up pretty well but definitely was hurting. McKay was nice and ran the whole thing with me even though he DEFINITELY could have bet our time by AT LEAST 10-15 minutes. I did improve my time from my last half by about 10 minutes on a harder course. I was hoping for a better time but here's to improvement!
It was a pretty windy day and my hair was driving me CRAZY! I also could feel the dirt on my teeth - yuck. Alisa and Lorraine helped bring the kids to the finish line to see us (that was no easy feat!)

We ran with some friends - it was so fun to know people at the finish line!

Me getting some TLC at the first aid station.

How you play with your girls and watch a basketball game at the same time

McKay is really trying to be a better multitasker. He really wanted to watch the Cougs basketball game and the girls really wanted him to play with them so this is what they came up with. Yes, that is chapstick all over his face. He also got a foot massage. The sacrifices he makes to be a Cougar fan AND a great dad...

A Quick Trip to Utah

I went to Utah for a couple of days to see my nephew Tate be baptized and niece Avie be blessed. It was really fast but really fun. Full of good times and good food - I am pretty sure I gained 5 lbs in one day. Fortunately I came home and had the stomach flu so I could lose the weight! :) Brad came with me so I wasn't totally relaxed but still fun nonetheless. He was pretty good on the plane and only cried a little bit. Travis and Rachel have rock band and it was really fun! I have always been a little skeptical but was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is to play. Even the little kids can rock out.
Even Grandpa was getting into it!

Shelby and Brad adding to the music.

Rumpus in the Rainforest

Anna's class put on a play called "Rumpus in the Rainforest." She was an army ant. Each child had a speaking part and then sang a song with the others that had the same part as them. It was a cute play and they did a great job!
Saying her part.

Class picture at the end. I think she was just as excited for the cast party after the play where you get juice boxes, cookies, and chips! Good job Anna, you were awesome!

The circus came to our street!

I was watching a friends kids and they were all outside playing and decided to put on a circus! There was a little bit of everything and lots of fun! Tree climbing.
Bike riding.

Wheelbarrow races.

Hip hop dancing with jump ropes.

And lots of hula hooping! Such a fun afternoon at the circus. (Many events not pictured due to the fact that the adult to child ratio was 1:7)

A much needed laugh

Mac has been working on taking his clothes off in the morning. He does great with the pants but as you can see, his methods with the shirt are interesting to say the least. The other morning I came upstairs to find him running around laughing like this. He didn't want me to take it off. He even did a little dance with it on - laughing the whole time.

Mid-Thirties

McKay has officially entered his mid-thirties. He had a great birthday (I think.) At least the kids had a great time celebrating his birthday. We went running (totally his own idea, must be worried about his metabolism at 35) and did a little shopping (new electronic device, hat, and jeans were purchased - none of which I am allowed to purchase without his input :).) Afterward we went to Toppers Pizza, a family favorite. McKay with some of his gifts.

We decided to keep the theme of pizza and made some pizza cakes. The girls had a great time decorating them. We love McKay sooo much! He is an amazing husband and father.

Yuba City

We had a great (and fast) trip to Yuba City to see Todd's family. The drive up there was trying to say the least (let's just sum it up by saying Brad slept for 20 minutes of the over seven hour drive.) We burned some energy right away at swimming pool even though it was late. The kids jumped right in even though it has been a few months since we have been swimming.
Brad STILL awake. He did sleep pretty good that night. I don't think my blood pressure could have handled anything less.

The kids had a great time playing with their cousins and watching TJ get baptized. The little motorcycle was a huge hit.

Mac wasn't so sure but he thought it was pretty cool.

McKay and TJ sporting Todd's gear.
We drove home really late at night and Brad slept the whole way. Despite spending almost as much time in the car as we spent there it was a great trip!
