Picking Blueberries

Who knew that picking blueberries would be such a fun activity that my kids would beg and plead for me to take them back again? Mac even enjoyed himself this year. Just to note a few differences: Carly: pick as many blueberries as you can as fast as you can. Anna: take your time and only pick the best, ripest berries. Mac: pick any you can find and dump your basket several times along the way. Good times were had by all. (I love that my kids like to coordinate their outfits.)

Last Day of Kindergarten!

Wow! This year really flew by! I have to admit this was an emotional day for me. I am not good with change and I just want Anna to stay six forever! This has been such a fun age and a fun year. I am amazed at how much she has learned in such a short amount of time. She has grown a ton emotionally and mentally. She misses Kindergarten but is excited for first grade where she will get to play on the big playground. I try not to think about how fast she is growing up. Kindergarten Rocks! One last swing!

2 Months for Brad

He's getting bigger everyday! He is losing his newborn red face and looking more like normal infant. He is generally happy and we love him tons!

9 years!

June 2 was our 9 year anniversary. It has been a great nine years. We went to a yummy seafood place on the Harbor for dinner. We had our family mission statement put up in our stairwell for our present. Our good friends helped us out and we couldn't have done it without them. You can't really tell from the picture but it is over six feet tall and four feet wide. We were challenged in a marriage class at church to make a family mission statement. The kids helped us make it one night for FHE. We love it and the kids love it too. Here's to another happy 9! Sure love Being Barlow hon!

She's Moving On

Carly had her preschool graduation on Saturday. I must say they went all out! My HS graduation wasn't even this fun! Jolly Jumps, pinatas, hot dogs - it couldn't have been more fun. She LOVED preschool and had tons of fun. She connected right away with one of the teachers 'Shea-Shea.' She would always make her pictures and Rashae would bring her bracelets. I can't believe she is going to be in Kindergarten next year. Good job Cars! We are proud of you!

Let the Good Times Roll

Having fun at the pool. It is finally warm enough to swim (for the kids at least - I have the 80 degree rule = it must be 80 outside or 80 in the water or no swimming for me. :)) My girls love Fancy Nancy! They had just read Explorerer Extraordinaire and set up a club just like Fancy Nancy did in the yard and went exploring. The set up a spa in the bathroom as well but I missed getting a picture.

Mac loves his shoes! He even likes to wear them with his PJ's. He also LOVES cars! He plays cars all day long and even tells them he loves them when he has to leave or go to bed. "Night, Night cars. I love you!" So cute.

Tiger Olympics

Anna got to participate in her school's olympics. It was POURING rain but they did it anyway! She did a great job and even got lucky and McKay came.

Memorial Day Hike

Ok so let's just state the obvious here from the picture: we are NOT a hiking family. Hopefully one day we will be but we have not yet reached that point. Our plan was to swim on Memorial Day but it was too cold. Not wanting to be totally lame we decided to go on a hike. It wasn't all bad but now that Anna can read the 500 signs of 'BEWARE OF RATTLESNAKES' didn't help us at all. We hiked for about a mile then decided to turn back. Carly told us right then that this hike was 'silly' because we were already turning around. Anna was jumping for joy. Mac kept stopping every 5 feet to pick up another dirt clod, stick, or rock - which made the hiking pretty slow. Maybe when the kids are a little older we can again try to appreciate nature.

We did stop at an Indian Museam at the end of our "hike" the girls thought that was pretty cool. I think the In n' Out Burgers at the end of it all made it all worth it.

Anna's Open House

Anna had an open house at her school where we could go and look at all of her fabulous work she has been doing in Kindergarten. I am still amazed how much she learned this year. She has had such a fun Kindergarten year and we are super proud of her. Here she is standing next to the calendar and the Q-Bears. When you are caught with good behavior or doing something good you get to put a sticker on your bear. When you get five stickers you get to bring it home. Needless to say she has brought home a lot of Q-Bears. They talk about the date and the weather each day at school too. She now likes to check the weather each morning on the computer or McKay's phone to determine what outfit she is going to wear. Gotta love our Anna!

Good Times

Brock was babysitting for us and the kids had lots of fun playing with his hair. They put as many barrettes and fun girly things in his hair that would fit. They love their Uncle B and are sad he is Utah.

I had to include these cute pics of the boys. I haven't seen Mac fall asleep anywhere recently but his bed and car seat so I had to snap the picture of him asleep in his chair. I guess he needed a nap!
