Brad is 2!

Happy Birthday Brad! Brad is such a happy active kid! He definitely keeps things real and exciting around our house. He is talking like crazy and tries his best to keep up with his siblings. Or in some cases they try to keep up with him. Anna asked me the other day why Brad can dribble the basketball better than her. We all have different talents sweetie. He definitely loves his balls. And since we have 1000 balls at our house (well it seems like it anyway) we didn't get him any more for his birthday. Instead he got the next best thing... LUCKY CHARMS!!! He was sooo excited. He also got the movie Tangled. I will admit I really wanted to buy the movie and Brad's birthday was a very convenient reason to do so. However, he LOVES the movie! And he walks around holding it saying "my Tangled." It is a pretty long movie for him but he will sit through almost all of it.

Everyone was excited Brad got Lucky Charms for his birthday.

While the girls were at school I took Brad and Mac to the Camarillo Zoo (a.k.a. Petco.) They loved running around looking at all of the animals.

...and playing with the unused dog toy balls. Happy Birthday Brad! We love you!

Brad's Birthday Party with the Barlows

Our cute Bubba Chi Chi turned two this April! We had a party with the Barlows the Sunday before his birthday. He loved all the attention. He definitely got that it was his birthday. He got this stylin' Dodger shirt from Grandma and Grandpa Barlow.

He got some cute clothes from Corrine and Alisa. After he was done opening his presents Mac ran up to me and whispered in my ear that he didn't want any clothes for his birthday. Just toys. Such a perceptive child. In his mind clothes are just a waste. You'll get those anyway, toys on the other hand are VERY cool.Brad with his doggie cake. Or he called it his 'ruff ruff' cake. Again, he was sooo happy to have all this attention!

This is the life!

Geology Rocks!

Anna's class performed the play "Geology Rocks." Anna was super excited because she was chosen to be a student (Jenn) and had one of the longest parts. She did a great job! They had to learn about 7 songs along with all of their parts. Anna and the other 'student.'

It was a great play and you could hear Anna really well. Good job Anna!

Puss in Boots

I was lucky enough to get to go with Carly on a fieldtrip to the play "Puss in Boots." We had a great time. At our school the parents drive on the fieldtrips so I was totally nervous driving 3 other kids in my car! It was a really fun experience for the kids! They talk about the fieldtrip forever.

Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock

Carly was Anansi in her play 'Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock.' It is about a spider who finds a magic rock that makes people falls asleep. Then the spider steals the animals food. She did a great job. She has found one of her callings in life: on the stage. She had a mic on her shirt but her teacher forgot to turn it on but it was not a problem. She really was amazing!

Green Eggs and Ham

I only take two pictures for McKay's birthday but for Dr. Suess' I take four! What is wrong with me?! I only remembered because the kids talk about it at school. So we had Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast. The kids ate them up! I had a harder time eating them than anyone else.

Carly 'haming' it up for the camera!

Mac got the book and had me read it during breakfast. I love to quote the end of the book to my kids "you don't like it so you say, try it try it and you may!" I have to say that more than I would like to get my kids to eat stuff. Fun morning.

Science Night

The girls got to go to Science Night at their school. It was really cool. It felt so 'sciency.' We flew airplanes, mixed potions, found the iron in Total cereal, played with magnets, and dissected owl pellets.

Such a fun night!

Skating!

Since we were basically sick the entire month of Febrary we miss a lot of things. One thing we missed was a birthday party Anna was invited to at Skaing Plus. It was from one of her best friends. She was really disapointed not to be there so I told her we could go skating another time. The girls had so much fun. I was just going to watch but I couldn't help myself and I had to skate! It was such a flashback to junior high! Except Justin Beiber was playing instead of the Backstreet Boys.

Happy Birthday McKay

A great day for McKay! A bad day for the camera - only two pictures, what is wrong with me! McKay had a fun birthday. Luckily it came just as the sickness was hitting our family. Carly was feeling sick but felt good enough to go to dinner with us. We decided to go to Denny's (not the most exciting I know but you get to eat free on your birthday and kids eat free on Tuesday - we basically ate for almost nothing, felt a little bad but not that bad.) Then we went to the church and had cinnamon rolls with all the youth. No pictures again - too crazy. Kids had lots of fun. Hopefully so did McKay.

Happy Birthday hon!!!

First Piano Recital

Anna had her first piano recital of many. She did a great job. She played Grime Doesn't Pay and the Eggspert Hen. She was pretty nervous and was a little disappointed when we got there and she found out she was very first. She did a great job though and got to relax through the rest of the recital. She has really caught on and is loving the piano. I am not naive enough to think that it is going to always be like this, but I have my fingers crossed she will not be as difficult as I was. I SO appreciate my mom dealing with me and practicing the piano. I know my payback is coming, just maybe not with Anna.
