It's going to be another good year

Yup... The cougars were victorious against Utah so it seems to make the whole year better. Although it was a little too close for comfort (why can't the score ever be like 48-3 or something?) a win is still a win. It is pretty much a spiritual experience so it was totally appropriate to watch the end of the game again today (Sunday.) Although this time we didn't yell so the children wouldn't burst into tears like they did yesterday. Did I mention our water heater broke on Saturday? It was basically the best day in the world for it to break because we were in such a good mood that BYU won, that throwing hundreds of dollars during the holidays toward a new water heater seemed trivial. Go Cougars!

Reasons we love Carly

She thinks the coolest thing in the world is being a 'big sister.' She LOVES to hold Mac, stroke his head and tell him that 'it is ok Mac, I got you.'

She wears multiple layers of pajamas to bed - even when it is hot!

She asks for her hair to be done in the craziest of combinations. Like 'I want my hair in all-the-hair (ponytail to the rest of America), with a twistie braid, then a side clip and a headband. She puts a lot of thought into it!

Happy Birthday Anna!

Anna is now 5! She has been looking forward to this day since November 20, 2006. She was excited to be five because it is so easy to show people how old you are, you don't even have to put any fingers down when you show them! Hilarious. Among a lot of other things she got a Disney cash register. She generously let Carly be the cashier today for the first time for about 5 minutes. Carly has done a lot of 'shopping' lately. Happy Birthday!

Four Months Old!

Mr. Mac is now four months old! He weighs 14 lbs 6 oz and is 25 and 3/4 inches long. He can roll over both ways (no more showers while he lays on the bed!), talk, laugh, and watch baby Einstein. The suit coat just makes him look all grown up - time is flying!

The Nutcracker

I went to the Nutcracker several times as a young girl and loved it so I decided to give it a try with my girls this year. I thought they would like it since they are going to be sugar plum fairies for their Ballet performance in December. It was a shortened version and they did suprisingly well. Carly kept asking me when they were going to talk. I also caught Anna dancing with her arms during the performance. :)

Anna's new do

Anna got a hair cut today. For those of you who haven't seen her for awhile, we cut about four inches off. She was a little nervous at first but now LOVES it. She was walking around the house today saying she just couldn't believe how cute her hair was. She also made frequent extended stops in front of the mirror (she gets that from her father.) She doesn't think anyone is going to recognize her with her new haircut. Carly got a little trim as well.

Jammies

Mac has these jammies that are from Disney's movie 'Cars.' I know I am biased but he just looks too adorable in them I can barely handle it. Oh, and did I mention he is sleeping through the night? That makes me love his jammies even more. I wake up in the morning and want to break out in the Hallelujiah chorus. I know it may not last but we will take whatever we can get!!!

Reasons we love Anna

She finds the tinests of 'owies' so she can wear Barbie bandaids that match her outfit.

When Mac gets fussy she calms him down by 'playing toe nail polish' with him.

She coordinates everyone's outfits to make Daddy happy. (When McKay got home from church she had everyone in Cougar Blue, waiting for Dad to join in the fun) Go Cougars!

Happy Halloween!

McKay carved the pumpkins for FHE on Monday. The girls think it is really cool to watch dad carve their pumkins but have yet to particpate as it is "yucky" and "ew." In case you can't tell they both have Dora pumpkins. Good job hon!

The girls had a blast on Halloween! Carly was Snow White and Anna was Cinderella (again.) Maybe next year we won't have to be Princesses??? I did convince them to be BYU cheerleaders for the ward party. Anna really clued into the fact that the main point of Halloween is to get as much candy as possible. However, the girls were both very willing to give Grandpa Barlow all of their Almond Joys (does anyone know a child that likes Almond Joys???) We had a ward party the night before Halloween with a trunk-or-treat where they got to play games and gets lots of candy. They also got to go trick-or-treating at their preschool. Don't worry, they still had plenty of energy to go trick-or-treating again that night! They got so much candy that this morning I convinced them to give me most of their candy in exchange for a trip to Target to pick out a toy. Anna decided in about 2 seconds that she was willing to do that (she kept asking me if any of her candy was healthy.) Carly thought that would be ok too. We will see if they regret their decision in a couple of days. :)

Ballet

Last night was Anna and Carly's ballet performance. Carly came out and started dancing during the wrong group and got shooed back behind the curtain. Then when it was her turn to dance she was too flustered to dance. It broke my heart for the poor gal because she was really excited to have her performance and hasn't been nervous about going at all. I am sure it will be something we will look back and laugh at one day!
