The Fair Affair

We headed off to the fair on Wednesday afternoon. It was lots of fun! Well, not every single second was lots of fun, but I would stay 90 percent of the time it was great! If you got there before 3 pm then it was only a dollar (better than the 9 bucks it usually is!) We were still in line to park at 2:54 so I got out and ran to the ticket booth to make sure we could get in for a buck. Once we got inside and walking around we needed a refresment from all that hussling! It is a good thing we made it in for only a dollar because we ended up spending $30+ on food and rides! The kids had a blast and McKay and I were giving each other props for attempting to be fun parents.
It got a little chilly and the kids had to have their jackets on. Plus it was really windy when we were trying to eat all of our fried food (corn dogs and funnel cakes.) It takes a little bit of fun out of eating fattening food when you are freezing! We decided we had had enough fun for one day when the girls were huddled in the stroller freezing and Mac hadn't had a nap for a really long time.
Anna posing for a picture in a cop car. Carly refused to get in.
Every animal is a dog to Mac. Sheep, goats, chickens, they are all "doe! doe!" to Mac.

Yoga!

I checked out a Yoga Video from the Library thinking it would be something fun for me to do and help in my flexibility. Anna and Carly like to do it more than I do! Carly will even play Yoga with Anna and be the instructor. I find taking pictures of my kids doing Yoga much more entertaining than actually doing Yoga - I haven't caught the vision yet. They only like it for about 10 minutes then they are done. Notice the matching sippy cups with blankets for when they are so parched from stretching they need a drink. Such cutie pies.

Swimming!

Anna and Carly have been taking swimming lessons from a friend of ours who is an AMAZING swim teacher! Carly would barely put her face in at the beginning of lessons. I can't even believe how far she has come. Anna is doing great as well. She is learning strokes and can dive and get toys in the 5 feet! She has gained a lot of confidence. I feel so lucky Violet is teaching them (a total added bonus is she is teaching them at our pool.) Mac has even joined in the fun!

Carly all of the sudden decided she wanted to jump in! Who is this girl?!

Garrett's Costume

A few days ago we were at this new frozen yogurt place eating our yogurt outside. Anna got really excited and pointed to Camarillo Bridal and shouted "Look Mom! That's the place Garrett got his costume for his wedding!" You looked great in your costume Garrett!

Mac is 1!!!

Our cute little buster is one! Carly declared on the morning of his birthday, "now Mac isn't little Mac he is BIG MAC!" Yup, he is getting bigger! It has been such a fun year and has flown by. We are soooo lucky to have Mac in our family. He makes us all so happy! His favorite things are: playing in Anna and Carly's room, his thumb (right only!), bananas, yogurt, the phone (real, not pretend), and of course: MAC AND CHEESE! He can say mama, dada, nana (Anna and Carly are both called nana.) His nicknames are: buster, Mac Man, Mr. Mac, Mac attack, and Macky Mac. Love that smile! Six teeth so far.
I think Anna and Carly had more fun opening presents than Mac did. He got some new Dodger shirts, a xylophone, and some cars.
Mac really wanted to get that candle! Looking back I wish he didn't have on a stained girl bib! He is the third child... My apologies Mac, the least I could have done was put on a nice BOY bib for your birthday!
He kept looking at his hands and checking out how messy they were. Overall he stayed pretty clean and ate almost all of his cake. We love you buster!

We're True Blue

We had lots of fun at the Dodger game with the family! The pitcher for the Dodgers almost threw a perfect game, which was totally fun and made the game totally short (love that!)

Of course this hair only last for about 3 seconds. Can you see me hold his hands down so he didn't pull it off for the picture?
The girls had lots of fun being silly!

July Birthday Party

We had a birthday party for all the July Birthday's in the Barlow family. Mac got lots of cool gifts including a BYU jersey from Melinda. Go Cougs!

Fireworks Fun

We are lucky enough to be able to watch the fireworks from our front yard! The kids realized that the view was a little better from the street so they watched the last part there.

Mac loved his first fourth of July! He made the cutest noises at the fireworks.

Independence Day

We started the morning off with our ward's pancake breakfast - I was in charge of the food for the breakfast and thank heaven all the Barlow's were in town! They were such a big help! I felt like shouting "Let Freedom Ring!" when the breakfast was over! It was such a relief! We had over 300 people from our ward and two others eat. It was lots of work but lots of fun!

The kids got to decorate their bikes for the little parade after breakfast. (Actually I got to decorate the kids bikes while they explained everything to me that they wanted; hopefully soon the kids will be decorating their own bikes.) Pretty cute eh?!

The fourth of July wouldn't be complete without a little swimming!

Unfortunately home fireworks are illegal here so we had to make the poppers as fun as possible!

Look Mom!

Anna to me and McKay at Costco:

LOOK! THEY HAVE CHOCOLATE EGGS HERE!

A few other people heard as well and we all had a good laugh. :)
